GREEK GRAMMAR 2
This aims to provide a foundational knowledge of the common more basic components of NT Greek syntax and morphology. Students are helped to assimilate a working knowledge of a very basic NT Greek vocabulary.
HEBREW GRAMMAR 2
This module aims to introduce students to more advanced Hebrew morphology and syntax.
MODERN CHURCH HISTORY
This module builds on the earlier module. The students are encouraged to understand the development and the importance of church history. This will also provide a stimulus for the students to interact with biblical data and cotemporary Church history. The contemporary knowledge is crucially important and relevant for the present Church.
PENTATEUCHAL STUDIES
The Pentateuch is pivotal to Hebrew Scriptures and many key concepts are introduced. Creations accounts in Genesis have received unprecedented attention from scholars in the past and now. Many foundational concepts are introduced including the Person of God, nature of man, the original sin, the development of God's salvation plan.
HERMENEUTICS
Hermeneutics is necessary and foundational for Biblical Studies. The module will enable students intending to be pastors/teachers to interpret responsibly and apply the scriptures to the life of the Christian church.
PNEUMATOLOGY
This module explores some popular pneumatologies which influence contemporary church life and worship. The historic and theological context in which the Charismatic /Pentecostal movement and Reformed/Evangelical Theologies emerged and developed will be explored.
N.T. ENGLISH TEXT (ROMANS)
The aim of this module is to enable students examine Paul's thinking in detail, in the light of both classical understandings and contemporary critical and theological interpretations.
O.T. ENGLISH TEXT (ISAIAH)
The prophets form a substantial part of the Old Testament corpus. They will therefore be examined in their historical, social, religious and political contexts.
REDEMPTION
This module will explore the agreements and the differences in theological interpretation and understanding of redemption. This module will analyse the biblical, historical, theological and modern interpretations.
APOLOGETICS
The aim of this module is to provide academic skills such as analysis and critical thinking specifically in examining the questions underlying the relationship between faith and reason. The questions about the relationship between faith and reason introduce students to the philosophical debate over religious faith and provide a premise for a critical evaluation of theological, historical and contemporary understanding to the subject.
MINISTERIAL MANAGEMENT
This module explores the whole area of church administration. Dynamics of church leadership and financial planning will be examined.
PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENT
The professional placement is compulsory all 3 years of the degree course. It is an important part of the course. The module is not an optional one. This reflects our commitment to relate academic study to practical ministry.
